D04EG Fuel Injection Pump
Filmed on our own shelf: Fuel injection pump for Kobelco machines running the D04EG. Its job is to raise fuel to rail pressure and is timed to the camshaft. On a machine that has failed you see long cranking, low rail pressure and a derate once the ECU stops trusting the pressure signal, and nine times out of ten the cause traces back to the internal plungers and the suction control valve wear, and water in the fuel finishes the job. What we ask customers to check first: drain the filter bowl and check for water before blaming the pump — contamination is the usual cause. Fits: D04EG.

Connecting Rod Bearing
Connecting rod bearing for the Kobelco range. It carries the load between the piston and the crankshaft journal. When it goes wrong you are looking at a rhythmic knock that gets worse under load and low hot oil pressure, and the usual cause is that the overlay is wiped by oil starvation, contamination or a stretched oil-change interval. Before you order: match the bearing to the journal size grade and check the crank for ovality before fitting.

Filmed on our own shelf: Fuel injector for Kobelco machines running the D06FR. Its job is to meter atomised fuel into each cylinder under common-rail pressure. On a machine that has failed you see rough idle, hard warm starting, grey haze at idle and a sharp knock that tracks engine speed, and nine times out of ten the cause traces back to the nozzle needle and the internal control valve wear, so the spray pattern goes long and the return flow climbs. What we ask customers to check first: a back-leak test across all cylinders is the only reliable verdict — the injector returning the most fuel is the worn one. Fits: D06FR. Filmed from a different side so you can read the housing markings.
